More than an invisible thread, authentic ropes and chains bind together these three short films which, set in eras distant from each other, portray with ironic fetish and bondage traits genres that have become over time, with different forms and ways, iconics. SLAVEWORLD (8'35) harks back to the genre "peplum", so dear to the commercial cinema of the 60s and set almost inevitably in a historically fanciful frame inspired by ancient Rome. Here the surrealism of a clumsy pseudo-historian is further increased by a bondage, somewhat sadomasochistic, situation, highlighted by the deliberate absence of dialogues in a duet between a despotic and frustrated matron and a slave moving awkwardly like a fish-out-of-water.

BETTIE Rages AGAINST THE BLONDE (15'30) is a tribute to the work of Irwing Klaw, photographer and active american director in the 50's. Heavily persecuted by the wave of moralism in vogue in those years, he was one of the first to carry out work in fetish-burlesque and bondage style. He influenced much of the iconography of the genre in the decades to follow, and one of his models, Bettie Page, became in time a myth of the pin-up world: here, almost like in a silent film, a character reminiscent of his figure starts to be irritated of her subordinate role, longing in the end a sacred vengeance.

STAR CRACK (5'40) is set in an universe avowedly inspired by the original Star Trek series of the '60s. In recovering most of the craftsmanship of the period also fits here an ironic fetish-bondage element to underline once again what is, in the end, the main subject of all three short films: the abusive individualism son of the desire to appear and succeed at all costs that permeates today's society. In this tribute to one of the pillars of science-fiction two explorers find themselves unexpectedly setting old pending scores on a distant frontier planet.

after two and a half months of hard work finally my new book is finished...


The work:
this book contains a series of illustrations ironically inspired by a particular type of commercial films in vogue in the '60s focused on naive prehistoric-fantasy themes. The barefoot bondage-oriented drawings (watercolour and pastel on paper) have been specifically carried out, and conceived organically in sequence, trying to recreate a small story in pictures. All the material presented in this work is original, produced and published by myself (first edition september 2011). The book consists of 21 color illustrations in 16 pages size 21x30, and is available in digital format (PDF file) and in english version, accompanied by a card signed by the author reproducing an extra illustrations on the preparatory study of the characters.

The plot:
a savage land, far in time and space, whose endless savannas are inhabited by two distinct tribal communities of beautiful women. But peaceful coexistence is very precarious... if in fact the blonde-haired tribe is devoted to a noble subsistence economy, the other tribe, the black-haired, is conversely permeated by an aggressive culture, arrogant and hostile to anything that looks like a "humble job". Their only activity is to fight against monstrous wild animals... but this only serves as a training for hunting more soft and sought-after prey: the fair-haired cousins, to train for the performance of the hated daily tasks.
